How We Create Our Content
Every claim on this blog is checkable, and so is the way we work. This page says plainly how our articles are made, who reviews them, and what we won't do.
Who we write for
Our blog is written for independent Medicare agents — the people who sell, serve, and build books of business. We write about the rules, the market, and the craft of the work. We do not publish consumer-facing plan advice: if you are a Medicare beneficiary choosing coverage, talk to a licensed agent, or contact Medicare.gov or 1-800-MEDICARE.
How a post is made
Our articles are drafted with AI assistance against an editorial plan our team sets. Before anything publishes:
- Every figure is verified against named primary sources — CMS publications, the Code of Federal Regulations, the Federal Register, and carriers' own public statements. If we can't verify a number, we leave it out and say so.
- Sources are attributed in the text itself, by name and date, so you can check them without leaving the paragraph.
- A claims record is kept for every post — each factual claim, its source, and the date it was verified.
Review
No post publishes until a named member of our team has read it and approved it. The reviewers appear on each post, with a link to who they are. When a post is reviewed under our current workflow, the review date appears alongside.
Corrections
If you find an error, tell us: marketing@benefitslife.com. We verify, correct the page, and note material corrections. Regulations and market figures change — where a post depends on a figure that moves, we say whose figure it is and when we checked it.
What we won't do
- Publish a figure we can't source.
- Present AI-assisted drafting as human authorship — our posts are credited to the Benefits Life team and reviewed by named people, which is exactly what happens.
- Write consumer-facing plan advice.
